What Dealr collects, why, and how to delete it.

What we collect
A phone number, to sign you in. Sign-in is a one-time code only — there is no password and no real email address. A display name, if you choose to give one. The deals you save, the reports you send, and the photos you upload. A device id in a cookie, to count reports from the same browser. We may collect usage metrics, such as page views, searches and other activity in the app, to improve and personalise the service.
Photos you upload
An uploaded photo is stored first in a private bucket. Only after processing — reading the price and the product — is it published alongside the deal. The original is deleted from private storage once processed. The deal itself is a fact about a shop's price. If you chose to be credited on an upload, your first name only is shown on the deal; you can opt out on every upload.
Feedback
When you send feedback we keep the message, any screenshots you attach, and the platform and app version it was sent from. If you are signed in, the feedback is kept with your account, so we can get back to you. If not, a phone number is kept only if you chose to leave one. The Dealr team can reply to feedback. Replies, and anything you write later in the conversation, are kept with the feedback and shown to you on the feedback page and in the app. Feedback sent without an account is shown in the browser or on the device it was sent from, to anyone who uses it. Screenshots are kept in private storage, seen only by you and the Dealr team, and never published. Deleting your account also deletes the feedback sent from it, the replies to it, and the screenshots attached to it.
Location
We only ask for location permission on an explicit tap. Once you have given it, your location is used to sort deals by distance and to find nearby shops. To sort deals by distance, your location rounded to about a kilometre is sent with the request. It is used only to work out the order — it is not stored, not logged and not passed to analytics. On the website it is kept in a cookie in your browser for up to 24 hours, so the page arrives already sorted. When you choose a town instead, only the town's name is sent. When identifying which branch you are standing in, precise coordinates are sent to the server for that calculation — they are not stored. We never ask for background location access.
Notifications
If you allow notifications we store a device token (Apple's or Google's, depending on your phone) in order to send them. The only notification sent today is when a deal you uploaded is published. Turning the permission off in your phone's settings stops them; deleting your account deletes the token.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how the site is used: which pages were viewed and how often. What is not sent to analytics: phone numbers, names, and text you wrote. Error reports: when something goes wrong in the app, a report is sent to PostHog — the error message, the screen it happened on, and the platform — so we can fix it. It does not include what you typed or searched for, and if you are signed in it is linked to your account. Analytics are proxied through our own server rather than sent directly from your browser.
How long
Account details are kept while the account exists. Published deals and their photos remain on the site after an account is deleted — they are facts about a shop's price and do not identify you.
Your rights
You can delete your account inside the app: My account → Delete account. It removes your phone number, name, saved deals, reports and notifications, and cannot be undone. Usage metrics are de-linked from your identity. Under Israel's Protection of Privacy Law you may also ask to see the information held about you and to have it corrected.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
